FloodSax are transformed from being as light as a pillowcase to become as tough and heavy as sandbags within minutes as soon as they come into contact with water.
Twenty fit into a cardboard box which one person can carry so FloodSax can be ready for action anytime, anywhere, any place unlike sandbags that need vast warehouse storage space, are heavy and expensive to shift and require huge manpower and lorries to get them to the scene.
The semi-porous inner liner within FloodSax contains a gelling polymer which absorbs 20 litres of water to transform into ‘sandbags’ in just over 3 minutes. Once the water is in there it stays there and the bags act just like sandbags to keep floods at bay. They are designed so they mould into doorways to keep floodwater out.
They have held back torrential floodwater and debris during hurricanes and flash floods and can be used inside homes, businesses and public buildings such as hospitals to soak up leaks and spills so are ideal for anyone from individual homeowners to facilities managers responsible for large commercial premises.
